  4. How and When to Visit Student Services • Student Services is open during your lunch period. • Any other time you will need a pass from your teachers or lab instructors.

  5. Important Times to see your Counselor • When you need information or contact with your home school.

  6. Important Times to see your Counselor • Academic Advising to help with your courses and grades. Information about Honors courses or National Technical Honor Society.

  7. Important Times to see your Counselor • Career Advising for current and future educational plans. College testing and applications. Getting acquainted with the College planning advisor from Cleveland Scholarship.

  8. Important Times to see your Counselor • Military Advising from all branches is available, for those students interested. ASVAB testing will be available through Student Services and all Branches will be in at different times throughout the year.

  9. Important Times to see your Counselor • Personal Advising to guide you with problem solving and other personal resources. JVS has a full time Social Worker from Joining Forces and we have Bellefaire outside counseling services available, for those who qualify.

Attendance Policy for LCJVS • Please review pages 9,10,11,and 12 of your JVS handbook. • All absences after 5 days require verified written documentation; Doctor, Dentist, Hospital/Clinic, Court, Funeral Home…etc. • Frequent Tardiness to school can lead to discipline action. • If you are sick you must see the School Nurse to leave school. • LCJVS has a Court Liaison, who checks on attendance for the County Courts every week. • Bad Weather days will be reported to the TV, Radio, and On-Line news updates.

  11. State of Ohio Graduation Requirements • 4 credits of English • 3 credits of Math • 3 credits of Social Studies, 1 must be Government and ½ American History • 3 credits of Science • ½ credit of Health • ½ credit P.E. • 1 credit of Fine Arts or Technical • Pass all 5 areas of the OGT

  13. How to make up Deficient Credits • We offer On-line Courses. Both semesters. • See your Counselor to check transcripts or register for on-line classes. You may also make other educational plans for graduation, which may include summer school or options at your home school. • See Tutors regularly and work on Study Island to make up O.G.T.s

  14. Passing A Year Long Course 3 RULES FOR PASSING A CLASS • Must have 6 points during the year. • (Quarter grades are doubled, exams are single grades) • 5 out of 10 passing grades for the year. • 3 out of 5 passing grades for the last half of • the school year.

  15. Example of Passing for the year! Rule #1, Student has 18 pts. – needed 6 pts. for the year . *CHECK Rule #2 , Student has 8 passing grades -needed 5 out of 10 for the year. * CHECK Rule #3, Student has 3 passing grades in the second half of the year - needed 3 out of 5. * CHECK

OR BACK TO YOUR HOMESCHOOL !!!!!!
