  2. 0 RULE NUMBER ONE • Bring a Fire Engine, Preferably bring two, don’t forget a Truck Company too – This will do for Starters

  3. 0 RULE NUMBER TWO • Any Fire worth fighting is worth fighting well. Water, Foam, Extinguishing Agent are all cheap! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LOTS OF IT! • Life is EXPENSIVE!

  4. 0 RULE NUMBER THREE • Putting the Wet Stuff (Large Amounts) on the Red stuff is all that counts. • As long as everything else you are doing is helping you do the above SAFELY , then you are on track!

  5. 0 RULE NUMBER FOUR • Make sure you have more Water than Fire • Make sure you can put that water on the fire faster than Fire can turn it to vapor!

  6. 0 RULE NUMBER FIVE • LIFE BEATS PROPERTY EVERY TIME! • Always do a Risk Benefit analysis • NEVER TRADE A LIFE FOR PROPERTY • This is The Cardinal Rule

  7. 0 RULE NUMBER SIX • In ten years, no one will remember who wore leather helmets or not. • They will remember if the fire went out or not!

  8. 0 RULE NUMBER SEVEN • If you ain’t putting Wet stuff on the red stuff, then you ought to be moving water, venting, searching, rescuing or some activity to assure all of above are being done safely

  9. 0 RULE NUMBER EIGHT • Some day the Fire may get you! • Don’t let it happen because You weren’t thinking! • Safety is more than a word it is the way we do our job!

  10. 0 RULE NUMBER NINE • DO NOT PLAY FAIR • Bring more Water (agent), Apply it Faster, Be Safer, • NO BODY WANTS THE FIRE TO WIN!

  11. 0 RULE NUMBER TEN • To make all of this happen it takes a Plan and Organization • Make sure you have a plan • Have a back up plan • Cause the first one may fail • Have the organization that can put your plans to work!

  12. 0 Ten Simple Rules for Fighting Fire These rules did not come from a Text, They are based on observations of actual Fire Fighting. They are in no particular order. WE MUST DO ALL OF THESE AND DO THEM ALL SAFELY TO GET THE JOB DONE. WE ALWAYS NEED TO REMEMBER THE CARDINAL RULE OF FIRE FIGHTING: LIFE BEATS PROPERTY EVERY TIME!
