  1. Update on Influenza A H1N1 • Macau SAR has raised its pandemic alert from level IV to level V on 19-May-2009. • Macau Health Bureau has issued: • Preventive measures to all Educational Institutions. • Advice on traveling abroad esp. Influenza A H1N1 outbreak area.

  2. Preventive Measures in UM • You are advised to measure body temperature every day before returning to campus. Counter will be set up outside Cultural Center to check temperature. • UM will strengthen ventilation and disinfection of public facilities and communal areas. • Postpone inter-university activities; reduce large-scale student activities. If student activities cannot be avoided, preventive measures to check students’ health condition first.

  3. Advice to staff who are planning to travel • Avoid traveling to Influenza A H1N1 outbreak area. • If it is necessary to do so, pay attention to personal hygiene. Wear mask during travel and bring along alcoholic disinfectant. • Avoid visiting local medical facilities and crowded areas. • If flu-like symptoms developed, seek local medical consultation, do not travel long distance. • If felt sick at terminals, report to health inspection personnel immediately. • Report travel history to your faculty, respective unit or Campus Health Care Service at ext. 4133, 4123 or 4558 on first day back to school or work. • Wear mask for 14 days upon return and keep good personal hygiene. • If felt sick in 2 weeks after returning to Macau, seek medical consultation immediately.
