  4. How are we going to implement? • Focus on: • Planning & Zoning • Finance • Outreach • Permitting

  5. Big Focus Area - Permitting • One permitting solution across municipalities • Online Permitting Application • Pre-engineered design plans • Permit issued in minutes • Net metering collaboration with FPL • Training for stakeholders

Marketing Tools and Materials The following are and/or will be created by the outreach Team • Go SOLAR logo • Brochures • Displays / Exhibits • Bus Signage / Advertising • Radio public service announcements • Promo items • Solar Kiosk (separate budget line) • Specific flyers for HOA, Standardized Permitting, Financing, and Interconnection.

Marketing Tools and Materials • PowerPoint presentations • Electronic newspaper banners • Fact sheets • Social media • Web hot buttons / web banners / plasma displays • Press releases and articles • Email blasts with Go SOLAR information • Go SOLAR e-newsletter (recognition of partners) • Go SOLAR kids coloring page. • In process of designing a kids solar page for teachers and schools.

  11. Avenues of Outreach: • Work collaboratively with partners to use the marketing materials we develop to reach target audiences. Examples of how partners will do their part: • Include information and articles into their e-newsletters • Email blasts • Hang posters in each partner city • Provide an email list of HOA’s registered with each city • Access to City Commissioners email lists • Go SOLAR Outreach will coordinate venue with each partner city or group of partner cities to establish the educational event/workshop location(s).

On-Line Permitting Training • September - October • Hosted by Broward County • Coordinate with cities on Training Programs • On-line permitting • 1 Training Workshop Building Officials • 2 Training Workshop Solar Contractors • 3 Webinar • 4 PowerPoint Presentations • 5 CD – DVD with training materials

  14. Solar Rights and Financing Workshop November • Hosted by Broward County • Create marketing materials • Coordinate with cities PIO’s on marketing the event • Secure expert speakers • Secure location • Event logistics

Educational Events • Cities to help to determine location and dates of Go Solar events • Cities will be encouraged to work with other partner cities to plan events • The Go Solar Team will provide marketing materials and training to all PIO’s • The events will take place September thru November

Final Workshop and Panel Discussion Proposed Phase I Finale Name: SolarFest Date: February 7, 2013 Purpose: To highlight the Go SOLAR Program accomplishments Invitees: DOE, Building Inspectors, Gov’t Officials, Solar Installers, Public, reach out to regional officials, etc. Anticipated Number of Attendees: 250 - 300 Location: Broward County Commission Chambers – with vendor displays in select locations.

  17. Outreach Committee Role • Responsibilities Include: • Help develop workshops supporting educational and outreach initiatives • Conduct Financing Workshop • Conduct HOA Workshops • Conduct Go SOLAR Workshop
