Economic Development Highlights Bear River Casino Resort • Voted best casino on the North Coast in 2017 by the Times Standard’s Readers’ Choice Awards • 104 Completely renovated rooms • New RV Park being constructed • AAA 3-Diamond Rated, moving towards 4-Diamond Rating • One of the largest employers in Humboldt County

Economic Development Highlights (Continued) Tobacco Traders & Coffee Company • Provides California sales tax free tobacco products Recreation Center • Swimming pool construction to begin in 2018 Family Entertainment Center • Construction to begin in 2018 • 10 Bowling lanes, laser tag, ticket redemption arcade, kitchen, outdoor eating area • Future development includes two softball/baseball diamonds

  5. Largest Hurdles to Economic Development • Retaining knowledge and skills • Pulling talent from metropolitan areas • Small population base limits economic expansion in area

Supporting Economic Development in the Community • Internal Job Development Training Program for Tribal Members • Work in conjunction with other Tribal organizations such as TANF for skill building programs such as resume writing, job training, and GED classes. • Bear River Donation Committee makes quarterly charitable donations to various non-profits and other worthy causes in the local community. • Investing in the local community.
