  1. In Vitro fertilization Need, Treatment & Success In Vitro fertilization

  2. In Vitro fertilization What is In Vitro Fertilization? IVF is an assisted reproductive technology that involves combining the eggs and sperm outside the body in a laboratory and placing it in the Uterus once the Embryo is formed.

  3. In Vitro Fertilization IVF Procedure: IVF is a combination of medicinal and surgical procedures in order to fertilize the egg by a sperm. In order to do that, the doctors first prescribe medication so that the eggs are matured and ready to be fertilized. Later, the eggs are taken out of the body and mixed with sperms in a lab. Once the fertilization process is complete, one or more Embryos (fertilized eggs) are directly put into the uterus. A successful pregnancy happens when any one of the Embryos implants in the lining of the uterus.

  4. In Vitro Fertilization Requirement When is IVF required? It is a complex procedure to assist the conception of a child if one or both partners have been diagnosed with the below symptoms: •Impaired sperm production: An inadequate sperm count or poor mobility of the sperms can lead to fertility issues where the sperm is unable to fertilize the egg. Usually, the doctors try to improve the sperm quality by oral medications before opting for an IVF. •Poor egg quality: If the ovulation in the female counterpart is insufficient or nil, they cannot be fertilized by natural means.

  5. In Vitro Fertilization Requirement When is IVF required? •Family history of genetic disorder: If one or both partners are susceptible to transfer a genetic disorder to the child, an IVF procedure is performed and once the egg is fertilized, the embryo is screened for any genetic problem. If the genetic defect is not found in the embryo, they are implanted into the uterus. •Uterine fibroids: Uterine fibroids are the benign (non-cancerous) tumours that develop on the walls of the uterus and interfere with the natural fertilization process.

  6. In Vitro Fertilization When is IVF required? Endometriosis: Endometriosis is the condition in which the uterine tissue starts growing outside of the uterus thereby disrupting the normal functioning of the ovaries, uterus and the fallopian tubes. Fertility preservation: IVF is often suggestive to couples if one of them is about to start a cancer treatment and the radiations or chemotherapy might impair fertility. It is even a choice for women who do not have a functional uterus or if there is a risk associated with the pregnancy.

  7. In Vitro Fertilization Risk Risks: The IVF procedure also has certain risks associated with it: Multiple births: An IVF may lead to more than one births if multiple embryos are transferred into the uterus. Premature delivery: It has been observed in some cases that IVF contributes to the risk of the baby being born early.

  8. In Vitro Fertilization Risk Risks: •Ectopic pregnancy: An ectopic pregnancy occurs when the fertilized egg implants in the fallopian tube outside the uterus and it is impossible to continue with the pregnancy. •Birth defects: Although the primary cause of birth defects has been quoted as the age at which the baby is conceived, IVF does increase the chances to some extent.

  9. In Vitro Fertilization Success Rate: The success rate of IVF procedures is predominantly determined by certain factors such as age and the cause of infertility. In almost 27 percent of the cases, a successful pregnancy was achieved and 22.2 percent resulted in live births. Whether a healthy baby is delivered post an IVF is also governed by several factors such as: Maternal age: Although medical science has not yet confirmed this statement, the younger the mother, the more the chances of a successful pregnancy with an IVF.
