  4. Professional Development 2010-2011 BASED UPON THE FOUR CRITICAL QUESTIONS OF A PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY:

  5. Professional Development 2010-2011 to support:What is it we want ALL students to learn? Curriculum • K-12 ELA curriculum (task force & writers – on Wednesdays at Oliphant) • Based upon NEW common core standards • K-12 Science curriculum (task force & writers – on Thursdays at EBEC) • Done in collaboration with East Providence & Newport • Implementation of K-12 Math curriculum (phase II) • Continued implementation of response to intervention (RtI) universal core curriculum including best practices in every classroom &PBIS • Continued work on benchmarking & standards based report cards k-8 • Development of essential learning outcomes • Using online resources (gizmo, everyday math online, askri.org, etc.)

Assessment & Evaluation • Implementing NWEA primary MAP testing for grades K-2 • Using NWEA MAP assessment data for grades K-12 • Developing & implementing common formative assessments • Implementing AIMS WEB progress monitoring system • Using the data available in TIEnet

  7. Professional Development 2010-2011 to support:How will we respond when some students don’t learn?& How will we enrich and extend the learning for students who are already proficient? Adjusting Instruction • Implementation of response to intervention (RtI) module in TIEnet (including forms & graphs) • Implementation of personal math plans & personal behavior plans • Use of plps, pmps & pbps in response to intervention (RtI) • Best practices for targeted & intensive interventions
