  4. Safe Environment • Mentors are trained to guide you from being a novice to an expert teacher • Providing you with their full attention during meeting times and high expectations • Colleagues will feel safe to engage in confidential and supportive work together

  5. Reciprocal learning • Opportunities to think out loud, share information, and solve problems to create new and innovative approaches to working with students • Benefits for experienced teachers and gains in confidence for novices

  6. Student Learning • Mentors will challenge you to examine where you are and where you need to be through a variety of learning projects • Data will be used to create meaningful and thoughtful classroom activity

  7. Cohesiveness • Work will align with district and building initiatives • Model a variety of protocols to use in any subject • Link assessment, instruction, and curriculum

  8. Benefits to Mentoring • Improve Instructional Performance • Transfer the district policy, procedures and educational philosophy • Frame the professional learning journey • Promote norms for collaboration
