  3. Calentarse • What words in Spanish you know for greetings and salutations? • What are the appropriate prompts that we use, in English, for getting to know someone new?

  4. Saludos Buenas Tardes

  5. Introducir • ¿Cómo te llamas? What's your name? • Me llamo … My name is … • Soy … I am … • ¿Y tú? And you? • Éste es mi amigo … This is my (boy) friend. • Ésta es mi amiga … This is my (girl) friend. • Se llama … Her/his name is … • ¡Mucho gusto! Nice to meet you. • El gusto es mío. The pleasure is mine. • Encantado(boy)/Encantada(girl) Delighted • Igualmante Same here.

  6. Despedidas Bueno, tengo clase. Adiós Tengo que irme. Chao Hasta luego Hasta Mañana

  7. ¿Cómo se usan …? Eva needs help answering these prompts. • Buenos días. • Buenos días. (Answering with the same greeting is easier). • ¿Cómote llamas? • Me llamo Eva. ¿Y tú? ¿Cómote llamas? (It is always polite to ask for the other person’s name). • Éstaes mi amigaPaquita. • Mucho gusto/Encantada. (if it was a boy who was speaking then use encontado).

  8. Continue • Mucho gusto. • El gusto es mío. • Encantado(a) • Igualmente. • Adiós. • Chao. (you can use any of the salutation listed as an answer except for the two phrases). • Note: Tengo que irme and tengo clase are not proper salutation. They are just a way to tell someone I have to go. So you still have to say
