  3. Part Three: The Wisdom from Above is FULL of MERCY and GOOD FRUITS!

[17] But the WISDOM from above is first pure (clean, innocent), • then peaceable (inclined to peace), • gentle (unassertive), • reasonable, • FULL of MERCY (compassion), • and GOOD FRUITS (beneficial effects), • unwavering(impartial or indecisive), • without hypocrisy • (clean, innocent), • (inclined to peace), • (unassertive), • (easily persuaded), • (compassion), • (beneficialeffects), • (impartial, not prejudiced), • (insincerity, pretense or showiness).

  13. FULL of GOOD FRUITS • Literally: • full(G3324)of fruits(G2590)good(G18) • FRUIT is an EFFECT or RESULT that originates from something, i.e. a tree. • Metaphorically: a ‘work’, ‘act’ or ‘deed’; or ‘conduct’.

  14. James 2:14-26 • [14] What use is it, my brethren, if a man says he has FAITH,but he has no WORKS (fruits)? • Can that faith SAVE him? • [15] If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,

[20] But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, thatFAITHWITHOUT WORKS (fruits) is USELESS? • The example of Abraham offering Isaac [vss 21-22] • [23] and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, • “AND ABRAHAMBELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,” and he was called the friend of God.

  18. [24] You see that a man is JUSTIFIEDbyWORKS(fruits), and NOT BYFAITH ALONE. • The example of Rahab [vs 25]. • [26] For just as the body without the spirit is dead, • so also FAITHWITHOUT WORKS (fruits) IS DEAD.
