  2. Landing Zone Depiction for the Scratch Female golfer on her Drive The Red Zone represents the landing zone. Obstacles within 20 yards of the landing zone (short, long or to either side) are considered to be “near” the landing zone. 130 20 190 20 Green 20 yds Teeing Area

  3. Green MeasurementLine of Play

  4. How to get average green diameter... This is an example of a green where the smaller portion is only used 25% of the time. Take the effective diameter of both portions and figure using the calculation below. 28 Diameter Diameters: 28+28+28+12 4 12 Diameter =24

  5. Adjustment is required if the effective length of a hole is different from the measured length because of a dogleg or forced lay-up. Dogleg Illustration Teeing Area Green Tall Trees 180 yds. 210 yds. The pivot point for the scratch player is less than 210 yards off the tee, so the hole actually plays longer. Therefore, we need to add the appropriate yardage for the scratch player.

  6. Forced Lay-up Illustration Adjustment is required if the effective length of a hole is different from the measured length because of a forced lay-up. Teeing Area Green 190 yds. 210 yds. Who lays up? Scratch, not Bogey
