  3. Performance excellence is continually looking for ways PVHS can improve The Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence is a series of questions. PVHS responds to those questions and applies to the state and national quality programs for feedback. That feedback helps us identify where we can make improvements The criteria is based on research that identifies what high performing organizations have in common – it’s evidence-based practice for successful organizations that PVHS can check itself against Organizations that represent state or national best practices receive an award that identifies them as a leading organization so that other organizations can learn from them PVHS is a national and state best practice organization – we received the Baldrige National Quality Award in 2008 and the Colorado State Quality Award in 2004 and 2008 What is Performance Excellence?

  4. PDCA stands for Plan, Do, Check, Act and is the improvement method PVHS uses to make improvements It has four-steps that guide improvement teams to develop a solution and check the effectiveness of the solution What is PDCA?

Lean is based on a 9 step PDCA process using a tool called the A3 The A3 guides and documents your work through each step Lean focuses on: Removing waste Defining what the customer values Using data to prioritize areas for improvement Developing solutions as a team Standardizing work to consistently deliver what the customer values Employee involvement is essential for success P P A A D D A3 Thinking C C Performance Performance STD WORK STD WORK Time Time What is Lean?
