  3. Mission Life • The purpose to the mission was to teach how active Americans Catholicism • the men formed and cared for the animals while the women cook, garden and made candles

Problems at the Missions • They were not free to leave • They were forced to give up way of life • they worked hard • they had to learn Spanish and follow Catholicism • Many died from diseases such as measles and smallpox • They fought against the mission system • some resistance was violent • They diastral the sand ego Mission Others never joined a mission They chose to stay on there lands
