1. Martin Griffin Supports Education in California Martin Griffin was born in Akron, Ohio and spent the majority of his childhood in the city. His family moved to Pennsylvania before he started high school, and he attended a school in Erie, Pennsylvania and then in Vienna, West Virginia. He developed an interest in education early on and chose to become a teacher. He taught in multiple states including Alabama, New York, and California. He was an educator for eight years before becoming an assistant high school principal and then a high school principal. He earned a Master of Arts in Secondary Education Administration and started working as the principal of Mount Miguel High School in 2000. He spent the next nine years working with multiple schools and gained insight into the administrative process. Martin Griffin cares about education and wants to support schools in California. He has experience as a chief academic officer and worked with the Palos Verde Unified School District. He spent years honing his knowledge of educational reform. “My work experience ranges between low performing, program improvement schools and high performing schools,” Griffin states. “I have worked with administration, faculty, and community to implement school improvement plans at all of my schools.” Martin Griffin has worked with a number of schools and was even the founding executive director of Mountain Peak Charter Schools.
