  1. Martin Griffin Supports Education in California Martin Griffin was born in Akron, Ohio and spent the majority of his childhood in the city. His family moved to Pennsylvania before he started high school, and he attended a school in Erie, Pennsylvania and then in Vienna, West Virginia. He developed an interest in education early on and chose to become a teacher. He taught in multiple states including Alabama, New York, and California. He was an educator for eight years before becoming an assistant high school principal and then a high school principal. He earned a Master of Arts in Secondary Education Administration and started working as the principal of Mount Miguel High School in 2000. He spent the next nine years working with multiple schools and gained insight into the administrative process. Martin Griffin cares about education and wants to support schools in California. He has experience as a chief academic officer and worked with the Palos Verde Unified School District. He spent years honing his knowledge of educational reform. “My work experience ranges between low performing, program improvement schools and high performing schools,” Griffin states. “I have worked with administration, faculty, and community to implement school improvement plans at all of my schools.” Martin Griffin has worked with a number of schools and was even the founding executive director of Mountain Peak Charter Schools. He understands the accreditation process and the importance of hiring a strong teaching staff. As a consultant, Griffin is able to help schools on a number of different levels. He works with schools throughout the accreditation process and consults with schools that are struggling. Griffin chose this career because he cares about the quality of education students receive in California. He is a multicultural and bilingual educator who is interested in helping schools adopt multiracial education. He strives to help school implement reform programs as well. According to Griffin, he has worked “to implement whole systems reform both on a school site level and district- wide level.” He offers schools and districts the knowledge and tools they need to improve their schools. Griffin has helped schools train their educators on the importance of professional learning communities, and he has helped schools implement these collaborative communities. Griffin supports educators so that their students have access to high quality education. Griffin’s prioritizes students and strives to create a strong educational system in California.
