  4. Operations Workshop 1.A. Report Out From Harmonization Management Team On Operations Issues Action Items from the Last Meeting • There were seven action items from the 18th FAA/JAA Annual Conference Operations Workshop.

  5. Operations Workshop 1. Fractional Ownership. The Fractional Ownership issue will be addressed in the JAA, and the FAA will provide the Fractional NPRM as a basis for potential harmonization activity. Status: Completed

  6. Operations Workshop 2. Simulators. The ongoing international simulator standards review is nearing completion, and results will be presented to ICAO later this year. It is anticipated that this will result in amendment to JAR-STD-1A and draft AC 120-40C. Status: Completed

  7. Operations Workshop 3. Child Restraint Devices. The FAA will provide the JAA with the Child Restraint NPRM as soon possible, so that harmonization activity can proceed. Status: Completed

  8. Operations Workshop 4. Single-Engine IMC. The JAA multi-disciplinary group will present their findings to Central JAA in July 2001. This will form the basis for future work. Status: Complete

  9. Operations Workshop 5. ETOPS. The FAA will coordinate the recommendations of the ARAC ETOPS Working Group with the JAA. This will be the basis for FAA rulemaking. Status: In Progress

  10. Operations Workshop 6. ICAO Coordination. Joint JAA/FAA activities will be planned. Status: Complete

  11. Operations Workshop 7. AWO. FAA activity in resolving the differences with draft AC 120-29A will continue. Close coordination with the JAA will be maintained. Status: In Progress

  13. Operations Workshop 1. Performance – The ARAC Performance Working Group recommendations have been forwarded to the FAA. 2. Simulators – The international simulator review has been completed with recommendation forwarded to ICAO for inclusion into guidance material. 3. FAA participated in the JAA Operations Sectorial Team and in the JAA Helicopter Sub-Sectorial Team and AWGAS (Aerial Work and General Aviation Subcommittee).

Participation by FAA and representatives from some JAA Member NAA’s in ICAO Panels and Study Groups: • Operations Panel Working Groups • Helicopter-Tilt-rotor Study Group • Obstacle Clearance Panel • Separation and Airspace Safety Panel • Surveillance and Conflict Resolution Systems Panel • Global Navigation Satellite System Panel

  16. Operations Workshop 1. ETOPS – Continue FAA and JAA coordination. 2. Performance – Advance the results of the ARAC activity. 3. Simulators -- Continue work on Flight Simulators utilizing the agreed upon SIP working plans. 4. TAOARC activity will continue.

  17. Operations Workshop 5. FAA to continue participation in JAA Operations Sectorial Team, and its sub-sectorial teams as requested (helicopter, JAR OPS 2 and 4 (AWGAS), STD). 6. Single engine IMC –JAA P-NPA OPS 28 is expected for publication as an NPA later in year 2002. 7. Continued participation in ICAO Panels and Study Groups.
