S60 Stats…reasons to port! • Nokia alone has cumulatively shipped more than 50 million S60 enabled devices through February 2006.* • The smartphone market is expected to continue its rapid growth, reaching close to 100 million units during 2006. According to Nokia estimates, the bulk of this volume will be based on S60 3rd Edition. • Nokia shipped more than 28 million Nokia S60 smartphones in 2005. • 30+ S60 devices have launched in the market from five S60 licensees. * • Nine S60 3rd edition devices are already shipping in volume in the market: Nokia E60, E61, E70, N71, N73, N80, N91, N93 and 3250. • Four additional S60 3rd Edition devices have been announced and are expected to reach the market soon: Nokia E50, N72, N92 and 5500. Based on these stats, Content Providers have an immediate market opportunity for native S60 applications AND because all future S60 devices will be S60 3rd Edition.
