Varietal wines Conditions of production: 1.Member States shall introduce laws, regulation or administrative provisions to ensure certification, approval and control procedures so as to guarantee the veracity of the information concerned. 2. Member States may exclude certain wine grape varieties on a non-discriminatory and objective criteria if: There is a likelihood of confusion as to the true origin of the wine due to the fact that the wine grape variety name forms an intergral part of an existing PDO/PGI; The relevant controls would not be cost-effective. 3.Mixture of (varietal) wines from different Member States is allowed if Member States concerned agree. 4
