Well-liked author, quite popular. • Book: Partially biographical (Sherman Alexie grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation) • The book itself has won many awards. Read all over the US, in many schools. • Themes: Contains many themes that are relevant to this class: Heroes, education, dealing with multiple cultures, Humor, Also, Native Americans, sports/basketball, growing up
