  6. Create your own! • What you need: • Computer • Microphone • Recording Software: Audacity (free open-source), GarageBand (Apple), etc.

Add music (Project>Import Audio) • Free Play Music: www.freeplaymusic.com allows free use of music library for non-broadcast educational classroom and school use • Podsafe Audio: http://podsafeaudio.com/ allows free non-restricted us of music and content • Flashkit: http://podsafeaudio.com/ allows free non-restricted use of soundloops but is avertisement • Free Music Archive: //freemusicarchive.org/ over 5,000 free Creative Commons licensed songs *not all content not guaranteed to be school appropriate, preview first!

  10. Export as mp3 • “saving” keeps file as editable .aup • Must “Export as .mp3” to use outside of Audacity • First time you will have to locate lame.dll file you downloaded • Fill in IE3 tags (album, artist, genre, etc info) • Preview your work

Publishing • Without RSS- burn to CD, save on flash media, or upload to school website • Pro- easy, smaller audience, less tech issues, very low cost • Con- does not allow for subscription or wide audience • With RSS • Save to a website or hosting service • Create a blog (Blogger, Word Press, etc.) • Add an RSS feed (http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/myfeeds) • Detailed directions available at the above address)

PhotoStory 3 • Free download from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/PhotoStory/default.mspx • User friendly slideshow presentation software • Add effects, titles, narration, and music to picture slide shows with ease • Export slide show a a .wmv file for viewing on any PC * PhotoStory 3 is only supported for Windows XP (users have found setting the executables properties to Windows SP2 allows Vista use)
