  1. Why is Centrifugal Separation Crucial for your Product Quality? Centrifugal separator, by definition, means a machine that separates two mixed substances that have a different density (such as cream and milk or oil and sludge) by centrifugal force.

  2. All of us are aware that we can’t create a high-quality product from poor-quality raw materials. But we can create a low-quality product from good raw materials. • Primarily, centrifugal separators work in a similar manner but differ in design and purpose. They can be designed for example as a spore and bacteria-removing separators, as clarifiers, and as a regular milk separator machine. Taking milk as an example, here is what the different separators do and how they improve the quality of your product.

  3. Clarifiers • Clarifiers come first in line when it comes to separation. Raw milk may contain the kind of materials that you wouldn’t want to introduce in your processing line. Clarifying milk before its processing will protect your downstream equipment by removing these fouling materials.

  4. Regular Milk Separators • The capability of a milk separator is measured on its ability to separate cream from the skim milk. This is the quality parameter that has two sides to it- on the one hand; it depends upon the design of the separator and the rate at which the milk flows through it. And on the other hand, it depends upon the size and state of the fat globules. If it is not handled with care, fat globules may break and leak the contents into the product, making the fat more difficult to separate by the centrifugal force. Therefore, it is important to buy a good quality milk separator machine.

  5. Bactofuges- Spore and Bacteria Removing Separators • Bactofuges are the specially designed airtight separators. They improve the quality of milk, which is used in cheese-making by reducing the number of spores formed by specific bacteria strains.
