  4. Personification Personification- Giving human qualities or actions to something that is not human. Example- The trees waved goodbye as our school bus passed by. Non Example- The trees swayed in the wind.

  5. The Importance of understanding personification Good readers are able to make a mind movie using personification. Good writers are able to use personification to make their writing more interesting.

  6. Steps to define personification Step 1- Read the passage or statement. Step 2- Identify what is being personified. Step 3- Identify how the subject is being personified.
