  2. Apporter, amener, emporter and emmener • In French, there are two verbs that mean to bring, apporter and amener. Use apporterto say that someone is bringing something to someone. • François m’aapporté des fleurs. • Use amener to say that someone is bringing someone to where the speaker is. Amenerhas the same spelling change as acheter. • Pauline amèneson chien chez moitous les week-ends.

Use emporterto say that something is being taken somewhere. • J’emportetoujoursmon portable avec moiquand je fais du jogging. • Use emmener to say that a person is being taken somehwere.
