Mission To provide a seamless, student-friendly, and cohesive framework that gives students the opportunity to develop skills in areas of leadership, service, personal development, and academic success and to formally recognize outstanding University of West Florida students who meet established criteria.

  2. Vision The Voyages Program identifies opportunities and provides a framework for charting accomplishments by University of West Florida students preparing for leadership roles in an increasingly complex global community.

  3. Goal To create a leadership community of students whose progress through the Voyages Program will result in the acquisition of leadership skills and personal development. “See where it takes you!”

  6. Students who join Voyages will: • Attend personal development workshops • Attend and/or participate in the Leadership Symposium • Explore career possibilities, prepare a resume, and take part in a mock interview • Participate in service projects • Create a community of leaders through membership in a Leader Circle • Achieve or surpass a GPA of 2.75 • Develop a relationship with a mentor and learn to mentor others • Receive recognition at commencement

  9. Personal Development • Attend Developmental Workshops • Meet with Career Coach • Develop resume and update regularly • Participate in job shadow day or informational interview with mentor • Participate in mock interviews • Attend Etiquette Dinner

  10. Leadership Development • Attend annual Leadership Symposium • Participate in Voyages Leader Circle • Be actively involved in a Student Organization • Plan an event with an organization or department • Become a mentor to a beginning Voyages participant

  11. Service • Complete at least 25 service hours per year • Participate in community volunteer project off campus

  12. Academics • Achieve and maintain 2.75 GPA • Evaluate progress with mentor • Complete Leadership classes or choose alternative activity

  14. Freshman • Complete 25 Service Hours on or off campus • Attend Leadership Symposium • Become actively involved in a Student Organization • Participate in Leader Circle • Attend at least 4 Developmental Workshops • Develop resume • Meet with Career Coach • Establish a mentor relationship

  15. Sophomore • Complete 25 Service Hours on or off campus • Attend Leadership Symposium • Participate in Leader Circle • Attend at least 4 Developmental Workshops • Conduct an informational interview or participate in Job Shadow • Update resume- have your resume critiqued by Career Services • Meet with a Career Coach • Attend a Co-Op or internship information session • Achieve and maintain a GPA of 2.75

Junior • Complete 25 Service Hours on or off campus • Attend/Participate in Leadership Symposium • Participate in Leader Circle • Attend at least 4 Developmental Workshops • Plan an event with an organization or department on campus • Update resume and have it critiqued by Career Services • Achieve and maintain a GPA of 2.75 • Complete one of the following: (Junior or Senior year) • • Internship • Co-Op • Practicum • • Service Learning/Field Study Course • Become a member of an Academic Club • Mentor a freshman (junior/senior year)

Senior • Complete 25 service hours on or off campus • Attend/Participate in Leadership Symposium • Participate in Leader Circle • Achieve and maintain a GPA of 2.75 • Finalize resume and meet with a Career Coach • Participate in mock-interview • Complete one of the following: (Junior or Senior year) • • Internship • Co-Op • Practicum • • Service Learning/Field Study Course • Mentor a freshman or sophomore Voyages participant
