  2. Bulahdelah upgrade • Agenda

  3. Upcoming construction activities • Completion of select pavement on northbound carriageway. • Completion of concrete pavements on southbound carriageway. • Ongoing asphalting works for northern interchange ramps, bridges and southbound carriageway and crossovers. • Placement and compaction of verge materials. • Installation of kerbs. • Installation of safety barrier systems (wire rope, guardrail and barriers). • Opening of the final northern interchange round-a-bout and dual carriageway to the north of the northern interchange.

  4. The project has been further delayed by wet weather and supply issues and a full opening of the upgrade will no longer occur before Easter. • The project team is working towards a temporary traffic arrangement prior to Easter and during the school holiday period to alleviate queuing. • The community will be notified of the final traffic arrangements soon.

  5. Bulahdelah upgrade • Project update - video

  6. Mountain Park • Mountain park was cleared of noxious weeds and pine trees up to 300mm in diameter. One mature Blackbutt was removed for safety purposes. These trees have been chipped and spread as ground cover. • The old toilets, tables, BBQs and playground fixtures have been removed. • A new path delineated and about to be concreted. • Landscape mounds have been formed and will be topsoiled and turfed. • The time capsule concrete pad was located and the plaque will be replaced. • A path to the healing stream will be formed using the white rock from site. • Some re-seeding of lawn areas and native revegetation will be undertaken. • Landscape including planting will be undertaken. • Interpretive signage is currently being finalised and will placed in the park.

  7. Location Markers • The CIG identified themes and four preferred images for the location markers. • RMS consulted with the wider community to determine the preferred image to be used on the location marker. • Feedback on the images closed on Friday 22 February and RMS received more then 80 responses. • Preliminary counts indicate that photo number one was the preferred image.

  8. Community Relations Update • The Bulahdelah upgrade has had two bus tours since the last CIG meeting in November. • ‘Visit Bulahdelah after the upgrade opens’ banners were placed at each end of the road works to remind travellers to stop in Bulahdelah after the upgrade has finished. These banners will remain in place until the upgrade opens.
