  3. Elevation of Ignition Sources IFGC 305.3 • Equipment & appliances w/ ignition sources shall be elevated > 18” above the floor. Exception if appliance is listed as “flammable vapor ignition resistant” (Note: DVSC appliances do NOT necessarily meet this criteria) • Locations include hazardous areas, public/private garages, repair garages automotive service stations & parking garages.   4. Electrical Bonding IFGC 310.1/Comm 16/NEC 250.104(B) • Above ground portion of a gas piping system (other than CSST) is to be bonded to an effective ground-fault current path. Gas piping, other than CSST, to be considered to be bonded where it is connected to appliances that are connected to the equipment grouping conductor of the circuit supplying that appliance. Electrical Bonding (CSST) IFGC 310.1.1/Comm 16/NEC 250.104(B) • The figure shown on the next slide has been tested for use on a pipe. • The Dept. requires that the clamp be used on a hard pipe, and NOT on the CSST itself. • An Licensed electrician is not required unless the bonding is occurring within the electrical box, or local rules are stricter ICC Codes w/WI Amendments

Electrical Bonding (CSST) IFGC 310.1.1/Comm 16/NEC 250.104(B) • Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing (CSST) gas piping systems shall be bonded to the electrical service grounding electrode system at the point where the gas service enters the building. The bonding jumper shall not be smaller than 6 AWG copper wire or equivalent ICC Codes w/WI Amendments

  8. IFGC Ch. 4/NFPA 54 • All gas piping and gas piping installations shall comply with NFPA 54-2009 ICC Codes w/WI Amendments

  9. Plastic Piping Used for VentingIFGC 503.4.1.1 • Plastic pipe & fittings used to vent appliances to be installed in accordance with appliance manufacturer’s installation instructions. • Where a primer is required, the primer shall be of a contrasting color. ICC Codes w/WI Amendments

Venting 2 or more Gas AppliancesIFGC 503.10.4 • Where 2 or more vent connectors enter a common gas vent, chimney flue or single-wall metal pipe, the smaller connector shall enter at the highest level consistent with the available headroom or clearance to combustible material. Venting 2 or more Gas AppliancesIFGC 503.10.4 .1 • Where two or more openings are provided into one chimney flue or vent, the openings shall be at different levels, or the connectors shall be attached to the vertical portion of the chimney or vent at an angle of < 45o or less from vertical ICC Codes w/WI Amendments

Gas Cooking Appliances IFGC 623 • Open-top broiler units hoods to have a min. clearance of 24” to be maintained between the cooking top and combustible material above the hood, such as cabinets. • A minimum clearance of 30” is required above household cooking appliances. Req’t reduced to 24” where 1 of 3 listed exceptions are met. ICC Codes w/WI Amendments
