  1. FINGER-PRINTING OF BACTERIA16s ribosomal rna

  2. Made by :-RahmaAhmed.Amira Amer. UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF:-. Dr\ Nabil Hegazi.

  3. CONTENTS 1-Definition of 16s rRNA. 2-16s rRNA as a finger-printing of bacterial identification. 3- Sequencing of 16s rRNA. 4- Application of 16s rRNA. 5-Taxonomy of bacteria by using 16s rRNA. 6-Public& private nucleotide database. 7-Advantages& disadvantages. 8-Future of 16s rRNA. 9-References.

  4. THE DEFINITION 16S ribosomal RNA (or prokaryotic16SrRNA) is a component of the 30S small subunit of  ribosomes.

  5. Why the 16s rRNAis so important in defining prokayotic species?

  6. Each bacteria has its own 16srRNA , so We use 16srRNA in Bacteria Identification ( as a finger-printing of Bacteria )

  7. Steps of 16s ribosomal RNA sequencing

  8. APPLICATION S

  9. BEFORE THE DESCOVERY OF 16s rRNA GRAM (+) GRAM(-)

  10. TAXONOMY OF BACTERIA

  11. PUBLIC AND PRIVATE NUCLEOTIDE DATABASES:- The usefulness of 16S rRNA gene sequencing as a tool in dependent upon two key elementsmicrobial identification is deposition of complete unambiguous nucleotide sequences into public or private databases and applying the correct “label” to each sequence.

  12. ADVANTAGES 1- Ribosomes and ribosomal RNA are present in all cells. 2- RNA genes are highly conserved in nature. 3- Culturing of microbial cells is absent in the sequencing techniques.

  13. Disadvantages sequencing 16S ribosomal RNA lacks widespread use due to the technical and cost issues.

  14. We will work to translate sequence information from 16S rRNA into suitable biochemical testing process, and this will improving the accuracy and efficiency of genotypic identification phenomenon for better advances in microbiology laboratories.
