These parts of the circulatory system work together to transport oxygen, nutrients, and wastes through the body. Nutrients from food are carried to the body’s cells in the part of the blood called plasma.

2. Waste products are carried in the plasma away from the cells so they can be removed from the body. Red Blood Cells carry oxygen to all body cells. White Blood Cells help fight infection. Platelets help blood clot and stop bleeding from wounds.
