  1. Circulatory System The Circulatory System is made up of the heart, bloodvessels, and the blood. These parts of the circulatory system work together to transport oxygen, nutrients, and wastes through the body. Nutrients from food are carried to the body’s cells in the part of the blood called plasma.

  2. Waste products are carried in the plasma away from the cells so they can be removed from the body. Red Blood Cells carry oxygen to all body cells. White Blood Cells help fight infection. Platelets help blood clot and stop bleeding from wounds.

  3. Blood leaves the heart through blood vessels called arteries. Arteries lead to small blood vessels called capillaries. Capillaries lead to larger blood vessels called veins. Veins return blood to the heart.

  4. Respiratory System The respiratory system is a group of organs and tissues that exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide between your body and the environment. When you breathe, your body gets the oxygen it needs. Tiny hairs in your nose filter the air you inhale. Next, capillaries in your nasal passages warm the air.

  5. 4. Next, capillaries in your nasal passages warm the air. 5. Warm, clean air then travels down your trachea, or windpipe. 6. In your chest, the trachea branches into two large tubes called bronchi. 7. Each bronchus leads to a lung.

  6. 8. The Lungs are the main organs of your respiratory system.
