  7. New e-Learning Programmes • Institutional approaches to curriculum design • Transforming curriculum delivery through technology • Institutional innovation in lifelong learning and workforce development • Open educational resources

Institutional Approaches to Curriculum Design Projects are reviewing course design and validation processes, in particular looking at the ways these are supported and informed by technology in order to transform learning opportunities. 12 projects, running for 4 years For further information visit www.jisc.ac.uk/curriculumdesign Transforming Curriculum Delivery Projects focusing on processes which take place when real learners engage with a designed curriculum. 15 projects, running for 2 years For further information visit www.jisc.ac.uk/curriculumdelivery Curriculum Design and Curriculum Delivery Both programmes are supported by a central Support and Synthesis project, led by JISC InfoNet in partnership with the JISC Advisory Services, JISC-CETIS, the Regional Support Centres and the Higher Education Academy. This project is also working in partnership with Becta so as to ensure synergy and join up with other relevant sector initiatives.

Lifelong learning and workforce development ‘Projects developing and implementing the use of appropriate technologies and processes to enable HE-level learning services that meet the needs of learners in the workplace, and of their employers.’ • Thirteen 2 year projects, funded between 100 – 300k each • Starting in April this year

Open Educational Resources ‘Projects to release existing learning resources under a suitable license for open use and repurposing’ • Institutional: resources released across an entire institution (£1.50 million available, with up to £250,000 per project) • Individual: resources released by individual academic staff (£200,000 available, with up to £20,000 per project) • Subject: resources released by departments, faculties and schools within a variety of institutions, supported by Academy Subject Centres (£3 million is available, with up to £250,000 per project) • Project selection this month

  14. Future activities • Learning and Teaching innovations grants • 4 to 5, year long projects @ 75k each • next round May 09 • Continue to fund small domain focus studies and technical development activities
