  1. Candace & Brad’s Wedding

By: Christina Greschak Project #1 1/22/2014
  2. August 16, 2014 wedding at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. The ceremony will take place on the Oceanfront at 4:15pm with a cocktail hour then reception immediately following. Because they are both very busy professionals (Bride is a Nurse in Chicago and the Groom is an accountant) they do not have time to spend working on the wedding and trusts me to plan the event and provide guidance on décor.  Their colors are green and yellow with touches of turquoise. Choice of flowers are yellow roses and baby's breath. They met on Match.com.  They love movies with their favorites being 007 Casino Royale and Skyfall.  They run every day together and Brad loves to cook.  They are both from Chicago and have only been to the Outer Banks once and this is where Brad prosed to Candace. Candace & Brad’s Story
  3. Candace & Brad’s Story Continued They are not heavy drinkers but they love to share a great bottle of wine and to slow dance to Frank Sinatra at home in the candlelit.  They want an elegant reception with touches of the Outer Banks incorporated but not a beachy wedding with a lot of sea shells.  They envision a romantic and short ceremony; elegant and classy cocktail hour; elegant and “upscale” reception with wine paired food and romantic and personalized environment.  Their budget is $45,000 and priorities are as follows: 1.    Food and Beverages 2.   Music 3.   Décor
  4. Wedding Colors:Yellow, Green (I would use a tad darker green), and Turquoise Wedding Colors (not using LAST color)
  5. Arrival: Jennettes Pier-(800) 832-3474 - 4 hours $5,000-Take a break from the ordinary and host your special event at Jennette’s Pier at Nags Head. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the pier’s design complements the traditional Nags Head style seen in weathered cottages that dot the shoreline. On the pier’s top floor is the private reception area with covered outside decking offering panoramic ocean views. Accommodating up to 175 guests, it is a spectacular backdrop for weddings, dinner parties, rehearsal dinners, bridal luncheons and so much more. The pier comes equipped with tables, chairs and a catering kitchen. The dramatic, hardwood cathedral ceilings and cozy fireplace create a grand style down to the finest detail. Envision an oceanfront special event that is sure to be one-of-a-kind on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. For an unforgettable celebration, call 252-255-1501, ext. 204, for Michele Bunce, or ext. 209 for Beth Pallett.
  6. Arrival: 108 Budleigh-(252) 479-2208-An elegant classic beauty. This Outer Banks reception facility features muted walls adorned with antique furniture that compliment any style. The vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and a regal staircase are an architectural delight that brings drama to any affair.  Tables, 150 gold chiavari ballroom chairs and the building are yours for the day.
  7. Our vineyards are greeted by brilliant sunrises and kissed by ocean breezes. Placid spring conditions and summer hurricanes both nurture and threaten the grapes. Sanctuary Vineyards is just a small part of an exciting Outer Banks destination - your wedding. Each year life begins anew on our estate, let’s start yours here. 25. -4 different types of beer: Suggested to bride and groom (corona, bug light, ect.)-Malbec: A slow-roasted prime rib makes an excellent companion for the favorite wine of Argentina. The beauty of malbec lies in its ability to stand up to sturdier textures such as that of prime rib. A rich Cajun spice livens the flavors of the meat and plays well with the tannins present in an Argentinean malbec.-Pinot Grigio pairs with light fish dishes (Mahi is offered as a choice for dinner).-Sauvignon Blancs paired with seadfood.

  50. Ways to make the groom feel special 1.  Order a Groom’s cake, but make it really unique to him – like integrating his college colors or his favorite sports team. 2. Make him feel a part of the planning by integrating some of HIS hobbies into the event, like registering at his favorite golf or fishing store. 3. Let him pick some of his favorite songs for the DJ or band to play at your wedding. 4. Do something unique with the “garter” – use his favorite scent or put a special treat in the garter for him to find. 5. Pick some part of the reception or ceremony and ask him to “surprise you” with his own idea. Let him design it and put his ideas into play! You may be surprised! 6. Send a gift to his hotel room the night before your wedding or to him the morning after his bachelor party. 7. Write a special “toast” to him to read during the reception – he’ll be overcome when you say all of those sweet and funny things! 8. Let him pick the menu – the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, after all! 9. Send his parents or his mother flowers and a card thanking them for raising such a wonderful son. 10. Send him a sweet text just moments before the ceremony.
