  3. - Most of the Ancient Egyptians turned into farmers, because there were many poor families. • The farmers couldn’t grow any crops in the flooding season, inundation. So instead, they worked for the king, by building temples or pyramids. Or spend the day mending their tools or looking after their animals. • They used simple tools Such as, hoes, rakes, mattock, winnowing scoops, flint-bladed sickles and ploughs.

  4. Art and Architecture

  5. One of the most notable and long lasting achievements of the ancient Egyptians is the pyramids. There are over 100 pyramids. The pyramids were made out of solid blocks of masonry, and usually limestone and sandstone. The Egyptians also built the sphinx, which guarded the pyramids

  6. The Egyptians also built Mastaba Tombs, Butcher shops, and temples. • The art of the Ancient Egyptians shows every detail of their lives. Paintings in the tombs and in the temples are scenes of everyday living. • Sculptors were important artists in Ancient Egypt. There were many statues of gods and goddesses, kings, queens, scribes, and, animals.

  7. Education

  8. The education in Ancient Egypt was really privileged. Only boys get to go to school. But only those that came from royal and wealthy families got to go to school. Who were planning to get a career as a priest, or a scribe. -The girls would be educated by their mothers. The mothers would teach them how to sow, how to cook, how to clean, all sorts of things like this. They were not allowed to be part of their government, nor being scribes. Their main role was to serve and to nurture.

  9. In Ancient Egypt, their writing language was the hieroglyphs. • The hieroglyphs are written in pictures or symbols. • The hieroglyphs were often written in the tombs. The writings in the tombs were usually prayers. • No one really knows whether the Egyptians made up the hieroglyphs, or they learned it from the Sumerians. Although, Egyptians form of writing doesn't look the same as the Sumerians form of writing, Cuneiform. So if they did get the idea from the Sumerians, they definitely changed a lot.

  10. Religion

  11. The Ancient Egyptians believed in many gods. Over 2000 to be exact. They also had many creation stories, about how the gods got to Egypt. • The Ancient Egyptians had a developed view of the afterlife with religious ceremonies for preparing the soul and body for a peaceful life after they had died. They believed that when a person dies, they have to perform mummification.

  12. فرعون Ramesses II

  13. Mummification means to preserve a body by embalming it and wrapping it in cloth. The mummification is preformed by a priest. • After removing the heart, the priest would weigh the heart with an ostrich feather. They would think that, if your heart is heavier than the feather, then, a monster, half dog, half crocodile, would wait for you in the gates of the after life, and would eat you. • But if your heart weighed less than the ostrich feather, that means you were an honest person, and you were allowed to go through the gates of the afterlife, and you would become immortal.
