  1. Green Building Materials: Best for Environmentally Sustainable Buildings Clay bricks and conventional concrete are among the most commonly used construction materials, but they are not exactly environmentally friendly due to how they are made and installed. Clay brick manufacturing requires cultivable soil, which reduces forest area, while concrete requires a lot of water. For this reason, discerning builders and property owners are looking into sustainable green building material, like autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). Unlike regular building materials, AAC is manufactured with fly-ash, the waste substance from manufacturing steel. So, manufacturers do not need to get any natural resources to be able to create AAC products. Manufacturing AAC blocks and bricks requires at least 30 percent less energy than what clay brick manufacturing requires. This way, carbon emissions and carbon footprints are reduced. You can confidently build sustainable buildings with this green building material, as it provides high load bearing capacity and great thermal and sound insulation, despite being lightweight. And because of their weight, they are easier and energy-efficient to use in construction. Green building material is easier to transport directly to your job site, as they are considerably lighter than concrete and clay bricks, even when you order the same volume. This way, you can save on logistics costs, and you have an option to have them transported to higher altitudes with ease. When installing AAC blocks, you only need minimal amount of water, and the curing time does not take 24 hours. This can be practical if you are building in an area where legislation has forbidden the use of ground water for building activities. It is easy to maintain environmentally sustainable buildings that were built with green building material due to its durability and the high thermal insulation index. This means that external temperatures will not rapidly affect the ambient temperatures indoors, and the property can stay warmer in winters or cooler in summers. AAC blocks are versatile and can be used in most applications where concrete and clay bricks are used, such as high-rise buildings, malls, offices, homes, apartment complexes, hospitals, and schools.
