  2. OCR Process Agenda • What is an OCR • Objectives of an OCR • What is the benefit of an OCR • Deliverables

  3. OCR Process • What is an OCR? • OCR stands for Observations, Conclusions and Recommendations. It is an application assessment service that we offer to our customers. We use this as a tool to evaluate an organization’s current use of the Visual product, and provide a roadmap for both quick wins and achieving future business objectives. • An OCR is a process to: • determine the current state of the Visual implementation, • determine the core objectives of the business (what you do and make & which markets do you serve) and future directions, and • develop a high-level, long term roadmap to achieving those objectives.

  4. OCR Process The objective of the OCR assessment of the current application’s configuration and use, defining business objectives, identifying gaps in processes preventing optimization of the application’s functionality. How it is conducted: 2 day onsite assessment by one of our consultants, including database audits (1/2 day) and process review (1 ½ day). IMPORTANT: A Cross functional team should be available throughout the process to ensure maximum benefit. Individual interviews are much less effective.

  5. OCR Process What are the benefit of an OCR • It is always difficult to evaluate the validity of procedure without knowledge of the client’s business requirements and long term strategic objectives.  • Visual can be used and configured in many ways.  Therefore to make recommendation without a clear vision of the client’s objectives for the implementation in the short and long term often yields undesired results in the long run.  • For this reason Shop9000 typically recommends we engage clients by starting with an OCR.  Without this assessment is far easy to make recommendation based on limited knowledge that later needs to be reversed or changed as new information comes to light.  This generally ends up being a frustrating experience for both the client and Shop9000.

  6. OCR Process Deliverables: • Report/roadmap of current state and recommendations of actions required to achieve preferred state. • Financial audit report • Manufacturing Audit report The audit tools are programs developed by Shop 9000 to quickly access the current state of your data. These programs are provided free of charge as part of the OCR process and are yours to keep.

  7. Preferred state Phase II – Advanced use Phase I – Quick Wins Impleme-ntation cells Current State Duplicate data – non integrated systems Manual processes Inaccurate inventory and manual scheduling Management reporting complex and not real time Limited system knowledge and use

  8. OCR Process Audit tool Benefits • Audit Tools help to maintain Data Integrity • Enables faster month-ends • Assists in resolving reconciliation problems
