  1. Status report Adrian Chițan

  2. Overview tree production PDF systematic uncertainties note editing

  3. TREE PRODUCTION SherpaWMassiveBC, SherpaZMassiveBC, SherpaDibosons, SherpaDY, Wgamma HardLep, ZMET slow grid W done Z done (but in validation: missing samples) Dibosons D4PD level DY D4PD level Wgamma

  4. Paper/note editing edited the soft and hard lepton internal notes for the coming papers/notes redid some of the plots minor text editing

  5. PDF uncertainty moved from python to C++/ROOT obtained the numbers for all pertinent backgrounds HF scripts created for the analysis (not by me)

  6. Code • moved from python to C++/ROOT • the code is at /afs/cern.ch/work/a/achitan/public/PDFUncert • /ELE for electron case • /MUO for muon case • /ELMU for combined case • /v11 for version 11 trees • 3 files per case (3J, 5J and 6J) • root –l –b getPDFUncertXJ.C (X = 3 || 5 || 6) • running time ~2 minutes for ttbar

  7. Method • every event is defined by a commonWeight: genWeight*eventWeight*leptonWeight*triggerWeight*pileupWeight • btagWeight is extremely low and would pull the weight close to the lower limit of the float numbers (~1E-32) • MRST weight (intra): commonWeight*pdfWeight • intra weight: commonWeight*pdfWeightVars(x) • x=2n+1 (UP) • x=2n+2(DOWN) • n=0,1,2,…. • weights are added per region (WC, TC, SR, VRMET, VRMT, SRdisc) • print results

  8. Results • ttbar MUO • 3J • UP: 1.08013, 1.08687, 1.09232, 1.11038, 1.07865, 1.10957 • DOWN: 0.940185, 0.938361, 0.932796, 9.933086, 0.934485, 0.929138 • 5J • UP: 1.08021, 1.08618, 1.08576, 1.10894, 1.08341, 1.09996 • DOWN: 0.937198, 0.933829, 0.926622, 0.929806, 0.935271, 0.921611 • 6J: • UP: 1.06499, 1.07502, 1.10675, 1.08462, 1.07317, 1.12376 • DOWN: 0.937426, 0.932817, 0.927875, 0.930894, 0.932457, 0.924877

  9. Problems & status • singleT sample need to be processed only for run number 108346 but there is no such RN in the trees (fixed by processing 108346 as a special case of sT) • 108346 is not processed by D4PD maker (MyAna) – started to process it • missing from SingleTop file containing sample names (not missing in p1181) • Dibosons, W and ttbarV - v11 trees • ttbar samples moved to CT10NLO pdf set (lower numbers) • nJet40_JVF25Pt50 was read as float from int (5J && 6J) – no events in the validation regions (high MET && high mt)

  10. Next 2 weeks tree production PDF uncertainty (as v12 samples become available and bug free) paper editing Lake Louise Winter Institute 2014, Canada – “Searches for R-parity violating supersymmetry and long-lived particles at the ATLAS experiment”
