  1. Germ Safari Mrs. Swearingen’s 3rd Grade Summer Class Observation: We saw lots of bacteria on our hands. Hypothesis: Things that people touch have more bacteria. Prediction: We would see more bacteria on things that people touch a lot. What did we do?: We swabbed things that people touch and things that people do not touch. We dipped a swab in water. We swabbed back and forth a spot as big as our pinkie finger. We rubbed the swab on a petri dish. We looked at our petri dishes after 2 days. Things People Don’t Touch. Things People Touch. 100 4 100 3 8 12 8 1 50 13 5 2 2 100 What did we see? We saw lots of bacteria. We saw more bacteria on the light switch, the computer keyboard, the Bulldog plaque and the dusty TV. Conclusion Things that people touch a lot and things that are not cleaned have the most bacteria.
