  2. What is Meditation • Meditation is any form of practice in which people try to train their minds to gain benefits. • Meditation is most often self orientated and personal. • There are several different forms of meditation practice.

Origins of Meditation • No one person ever invented meditation it was discovered by a variety of people all over the world. • Meditation has been known for over 5000 years. • Many people believe that meditation was created by Shaolin monks, but there is no true evidence that they even discovered it first.

Transcendental Meditation • Transcendental Meditation allows you to settle into to your innermost consciousness where you are most relaxed and can gain deep rest. • This form of meditation is most easily learned through personal instruction. • Meditation has positive benefits such as deeper rest, increased memory and improved concentration abilities. • Another advantage of transcendental meditation is restful alertness. This allows the mind to recover at a higher rate than when just sleeping.

  10. Transcendental Meditation Cont. • Transcendental Meditation is said to be one of the most simple and effective forms of meditation. • The most known transcendental meditation tutors are gathered in business called tm.org they sell tutoring to those who want to learn.

  11. Mind-focused Meditation Consists of : • Mental exercises. • Concentration exercises. • Visualizations. • Breathing exercises

  12. Mindless Meditation • Mindless meditation allows you to free your mind of all thoughts and actions to basically just be alive. The main objective is to let go and dissolve the understanding of the mind.

  13. Spiritual Meditating • Use meditation to become closer to your religion. • This meditation can be combined with prayers. • Many claims of receiving divine guidance from spiritual meditation.

  14. Conclusion • From the current research meditation has only positive effects both short and long term. The only trade off is devoting a set amount of time to meditate each day. From testimonials and reading over years of research the pros of meditation outweigh the cons, so anyone who has thought about meditation should look into it.
