  10. “Deviation” vs. “Exception” • Roadway Engineering Design “Exception” process is a more formal request to use geometry, etc. that doesn’t meet operational standards

  13. Drawings are Reviewed • Engineer of record reviews drawings • Final Corrections have been made to CAD Files.

  14. Mylars are Created • “D” size mylars are printed • All parties have signed mylars. • 11” x 17” paper prints are made of signed mylars.

  15. Plans are sent in • “D” size mylars and 11” x 17” paper copies of signed mylars are sent to office of Pre-Letting in Salem Headquarters. • Office of pre-Letting sends mylars to ODOT Reprographics for printing and scanning.

  16. Contract Documents Created • ODOT Reprographics sends requested material back to Office of Pre-Letting and sends Bridge mylars and scans to Bridge Engineering Section Headquarters, front office. • Bridge front office returns signed mylars to original design office. • Loads scans into the Bridge Data System (BDS).

  17. Project is Constructed

  18. As-Constructed Drawings • Project Manager submits as-constructed comments to design office. • Engineer of record reviews comments • Drafter places as-constructed comments on mylar by hand.

  20. At Completion of Project At completion of a project, what information is needed by Bridge Engineering Section Headquarters in Salem. • Electronic CAD files in Microstation Version 8 format. • “D” size signed mylars • Calculation books • Project Files • Load Rating of as-constructed bridge per Load Rating Guidelines • Cost Data
