  2. VARIABLES • Independent Variable: Width of blades • Dependent Variable: Mass/ lifting power • Constant: Mass, fan, length from fan, material blade is made out of, angle of blade

  3. PROCEDURE • 1: Cut windmill blades to desired width • 2: Tape blades on to windmill structure and make sure they all stay at the same angle throughout the test. • 3: Set up windmill in front of fan at 20cm, make sure the 100g weight is secured and can be pulled up by the windmill. • 4: Turn fan on high and determine if it can lift the weight • 5: Repeat steps 1 through 4 for as many different blades widths as you want

  6. CONCLUSION • We concluded that the best fit for are graph was linear. So after conducting this experiment we concluded that there is a linear relationship between the width of the blade and how much weight it can lift up. • Width=.01x + 5.4 • So we learned that a blade with a width of 10.5cm will lift the most weight.
