VoIP PROVIDERSNEED LANDLINE PROVIDERS • Toll Free calls are still designed to be originated based on Carrier Identification Codes (CIC) • Unless the VoIP provider is also a landline provider they don’t have CIC codes, so at least for the forseeable future, they need to partner with a landline carrier.

  3. DISASTER RECOVERY FOR TOLL FREE • The attitude of “I have to have it all” means customers are not even informed of options that are key to their operational needs. • Documents like the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP) will make this kind of cooperation even more vital.
