  2. SOME NOUNS ARE COUNTABLE.- They have a single and a plural form. • I´ve got a sandwich. Here are some sandwiches for you. • I want an apple. Have you got any apples?

  3. Some nouns are uncountable. - They have no plural form. They use some or any • I need some bread. • I´ve got some fish for you. • Have you got any coffee?

  4. These things are usually uncountable. • Drinks:tea, beer, wine, water, coffee, milk • Food which you only eat part of:fish, bread, cheese, ham, meat • Things which you only use part of: toothpaste, soap, shampoo • Materials: paper, wood, wool, plastic • Some general words: information, music, money

  5. NOTE: Most drinks can be countable or uncountable.They are countable when we can put cup ofor glass of in front of the word. • I´d like (acup of) coffee, please. Countable • We haven´t got any coffee. Uncountable • I´ll have (a glass of) red wine, please. Countable • How much wine have we got? Uncountable

  6. We use How many….? with countable nouns and How much ….? with uncountable nouns. • How many eggs do we need? • How much cheese have we got?

  7. SOME / ANY • SOME and ANY are the indefinite articles for plural nouns and uncountable nouns. • We use SOME with positive statements. • We use ANY with negative statements and questions. We need some new mugs. We haven´t got any apples.COUNTABLE NOUNS Have you got any pens? We need some coffee. We haven´t got any wine.UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS Have you got any water?
