  1. Permission Overrides • The purpose of the Permission Assignment pages is to allow staff members to grant students permission to attend certain classes. • These overrides are granted: • To individual students • By employees with appropriate access to do so, • For an individual section (a class override) or • For any section of a course (a course override) • With an expiration date. • Once an override is posted, the student can use Self Service to enroll before the override expires. Permission Overrides • These overrides can be granted: • Class Limit • class section capacity, combined section capacity, and reserve capacity sizes • Class Permission • instructor or department consent • Time Conflict • Classes that meet at the same time • Requisites • Course Edits Details about all of these are listed in the Business Process Guide (available in this online course) Slide 2 of 7

  3. Permission Overrides • NOTE: • Depending on your security setup, you may be able to post all overrides, a limited number of overrides or no overrides at all. In addition, your security may limit you to post overrides for only a limited number of classes or courses (i.e. those within your own department and/or college). Slide 3 of 7

  4. Permission Overrides • Class Permission Overrides • Class Permissions assign permission for a student to enroll in a certain section of a class. • They are assigned by class number (Similar to schedule line number) Slide 4 of 7

  5. Class Overrides • The path in PeopleSoft to grant class overrides is: Records and Enrollment>Term Processing>Class Permissions>Class Permission Assignment Slide 5 of 7

  6. Permission Overrides • Course Permission Overrides • Course Permissions are assigned to grant permission for a student to enroll in any section of a course. • They are assigned by offering number. Slide 6 of 7
