  1. Do Now (7.4 Practice): Graph . Determine domain and range.

  2. Algebra II 7.6: Solve Exponential and Logarithmic Equations HW: tonight: p.543 (2-8 even, 13-15 all) Monday: 7.6: p.519-520 (4-14 even, 24-36 even) Test: Wednesday, 3/4

  3. 7.5: Change-of-base Formula

  4. Use the change-of-base formula to evaluate the logarithm.

  5. Property of Equality for Exponential Equations

  6. Property of Equality for Exponential Equations

  7. Solve the equation. (Type 1) 4x – 7 = x + 5 If the equation is a log = log with the same base, make the expressions equal and solve. 3x = 12 x = 4

  8. Solve the equation. (Type 1)

  9. Algebra II 7.6: Solve Exponential and Logarithmic Equations HW: 7.6: p.519-520 (4-14 even, 24-36 even) Test: Wednesday, 3/4

  10. Solve the equation. (Type 2) If the equation is a log = number, then write as a power.

  11. Solve the equation. (Type 2)

  12. Solve the equation. (Type 3) Rewrite the equation so that the powers have the same base. When the equation is a power = power with the same base, make the exponents equal and solve.

  13. Solve the equation. (Type 3)

  14. Solve the equation. (Type 4) If the equation is a power = number, then rewrite as a log. Solve equation using log rules. (change of base)

  15. Solve the equation. (Type 4)

  16. Do Now (7.6): Solve the equation.
