  3. Some figures • 2.-7. July, Torino • 4,300 participants in the programmes • 75,000 people in the heart of the city for the Science in the City events • more than 400 accredited journalists • ESOF2010 website: 25,000 visits in seven days • 780 speakers and exhibitors • 5 Nobel laureates

  4. About 45 participants Information on topic and EMCDDA provided Some positive reactions Lots of information material distributed Another session on addiction: Fagerström and Lund on harm reduction approaches for tobacco

Conclusions • Interesting stage to present EMCDDA/ ScC to “Science” • Focus on natural sciences, but public health is also a topic • Local organisers define focus • Next conference will take place in Dublin 2012 • If we would go there it would need: • A topic for the public interested in “science” • Involvement of our press people
