Physical Features • There are 350 kinds of parrots and all are colorful. • Most parrots are one foot tall. • They have big, curvy, sharp beaks • Parrots are the second smartest bird ever. • Parrots are usually 6 to 10 pounds. • Talons for feet. • Feathers are very colorful. • Two tiny eyes • Two nostrils above the beak

  9. Behavior • Parrots are a nice group of birds. • They like to repeat what they hear. • They also like to spread their wings to show off their pretty colors. • Their nests are made out of sticks in trees that are high. • They chose to kill insects because they are easy to kill.

Physiological Adaptation • They have a good muscle in their wingspan to help them fly. • Also they have good eye muscles to see where they’re going. • The birds stomach allows them to eat poisonous things. • They have a fast metabolism to help them stay thin and be able to fly. • Their brains are smart so they can fly and repeat.

Physical Adaptation • Good eye vision to help them see • They like to use their beaks to help them eat food and move around in trees. • They use their talons to land and hold on to things. • They have special talons to help them on trees. The talons go vertical but the bodies are able to stay straight which helps them climb.

  12. Behavioral Adaptation • Parrots like to fly so they can get away from predators. • They like to use their beaks to help them eat food. • They use their talons to land. • Bills for climbing. • They fly direct to get to their food faster or get away from predators.

  13. Fun Facts • Parrots are the most colorful birds in the world. • Boy parrots speak more easily than girls. • They are the second smartest birds in the world
