  4. Role of Operations Management within Business BUT Operations Management tells us how to do all of the above in a way such that the quality and productivity of what we produce is OPTIMAL

Operations Management has increasingly generated interest among recruiters because: 1) OM majors have general problem-solving skills 2) Many companies’ competitive advantage comes from productivity and quality issues 3) Media has referred to OM view as the “greatest breakthrough in management since the industrial revolution” - methods that improve productivity and quality
