SOLAR-B PROJECT OVERVIEW NRL Activities • Flight optical elements and gratings now at NRL • Multilayer coating of one flight mirror and grating completed • Work carried out by David Windt at Columbia University • Performance tests at Brookhaven Synchrotron Light Source • have verified response to be within better than 10% of nominal • Remaining flight optical elements coated at Columbia • Final selection of flight units to be made after testing

SOLAR-B PROJECT OVERVIEW CCD Quantum Efficiency Measurements • Representative CCD from the flight batch will be measured • Testing will take place at the Brookhaven SLS in the period • 11 – 15 November • Chris McFee will use the NRL beamline and monochromator • with NRL assistance • New Test Mid Feb 2003.
