  3. Basic tips • Don’t panic • Look to your generics • Move beyond the flashy exterior • Break the argument down in a way that makes sense to you • don’t discount the little things

  4. What is the argument? • What is the function/purpose of the performance? • What is the role of the ballot? • Why should the judge endorse the performance? • How does performance accomplish your opponent’s goal? • What philosophy underlies the argument?
