  2. Course description • Objectives: This course combines technology and technology management perspectives for cross-scientific approach in software and application innovation process. After completion of the course students have broader perspective on innovation process in some yearly chancing technically focused area. Students know how to innovate new meaningful software solutions and application based on some technology, what is the technical and business feasibility of the solution in domestic and international markets. • Contents: Innovation management, idea generation and opportunityidentification process. (Open) business models and technologycommercialization in global markets. Product and servicedevelopment. Basics and use cases of the selected technology,user-centric design and privacy perspectives in software andapplication development.

Topic 2014: Open data • In year 2014 students study the applicability of open data • Phase 1: Related work – data sources (Apps4finland) • Existing publications • Existing projects • Own ideas • => set of ideas for open data • Phase 2: Applicability – Application area can be selected freely • Selected data sources • Restrictions • => new concept/service solutions • (feasibility: business, security, …) • Phase 3: Presentation (you sell your ideas)
