Associate in Arts (A.A.)/Transfer Degree The Associate in Arts degree is the legally recognized Transfer degree for the Florida College System and is specifically designed for the student who wishes to transfer into the State University System of Florida as a university junior. http://sjrstate.edu/aadegree.html To receive the A.A. degree, a student • must complete a minimum of 60 college-level credit hours. • The 60 hours must include the 36 credit hours of general education requirements and 24 hours of university transfer program prerequisites/electives. In addition to the credit hour requirement as listed above, the student must: earn a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all courses attempted that apply toward the A.A. degree; Transfer Agreements with: Articulates to our Bachelor in Applied Science (BAS) Degree Programs: - Computer Information Systems - Supervision and Management - Health Care Administration - Emergency Management/Public Services

Associate in Arts (A.S.) or Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)2 yr Degree to enter a chosen career The Associate in Science degree/Associate in Applied Science The Associate in Science degrees are two-year programs for students who are planning to enter a chosen career at the semi-professional level upon completion. The A.S. degree programs encompass courses in two basic areas: One area is specialized courses, which provide specific training in a program of study.The second major area of courses is general education. Although an Associate in Science degree program is intended primarily to prepare an individual to enter a chosen career or profession, it may also transfer to a senior institution which offers a bachelor’s degree in a related field.  General educational courses are assigned to help develop a well-rounded individual and enhance employment potential.
