  3. Example - Adversary • Adversary – a person or group contending against another. • Synonym – competitor, attacker • Antonym – ally, supporter, friend • Sentence - Even though the men were friends, they were adversaries on the golf course.

  4. Another example • Esoteric – Belonging to the select few, private, secret, confidential • Synonyms – Cryptic, enigmatic • Antonyms – public, open, non-secretive • Sentence – The fraternity my brother belonged to had many esoteric traditions.

  6. Further info • You will get 10 words on Moodle on the first day of class for the week (either Monday or Tuesday), the vocabulary assignment will be due on moodle on the next day of class. If you are absent the first day of class of the week, you will be responsible for going on moodle and obtaining the words. Even if you are absent, the words are due via moodle on the 2nd class day of the week at 11:30 am. • VOCAB due at 11:30 am on Moodle.
