  20. Summary • As the fire quickly grew Saturday (6/9) and Sunday (6/10), the high resolution 3.7 mm band (I-04) saturated with significant fold-over • Peak (saturation) brightness temperature of 367 K • Fold-over pixels had a brightness temperature near 208 K • Moderate resolution 3.7 mm band (M-12) saturated at 368 K • also some fold-over, but not as pronounced as in I-04 • The 4.0 mm band (M-13) had a peak temperature of 570 K on Sunday afternoon (6/10) • Pixels with fold-over in I-04 occurred where M-13 was above ~400 K • M-13 was much cooler than M-12 and I-04 on Tuesday morning (07:58 UTC 6/12), otherwise M-13 peaked at a much warmer temperature as it did not appear to saturate

  21. M-11 (2.25 mm) 20:18 2012/6/9 Radiance Max: 38.16 W m-2 str-1mm-1 Min: 0.073 W m-2 str-1mm-1 Color scale: white = hot/reflective, black = cold/non-reflective

  22. M-11 (2.25 mm) 19:59 2012/6/10 Radiance Max: 38.16 W m-2 str-1mm-1 Min: 0.187 W m-2 str-1mm-1 Color scale: white = hot/reflective, black = cold/non-reflective

  23. M-11 (2.25 mm) 19:40 2012/6/11 Radiance Max: 23.10 W m-2 str-1mm-1 Min: 0.132 W m-2 str-1mm-1 Color scale: white = hot/reflective, black = cold/non-reflective

  24. Summary (2) • The 2.25 mm band (M-11) is only available during daylight hours • M-11 saturated at 38.16 W m-2 str-1mm-1 (also reached maximum reflectance value of 1.6) both Saturday (6/9) and Sunday (6/10) afternoon • No fold-over in M-11 • Fire much cooler/burning less brightly on Monday (6/11) • .
